A WORCESTER teenager used her social worker's credit card to buy goods worth more than £200, a court heard.

The 18-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted four charges of obtaining goods by deception when she appeared before Worcester magistrates.

Mark Soper, prosecuting, told the court that on the day of the offences the defendant's social worker had had to tell her that a supervised visit with her child had been cancelled.

"She offered her and her sister a lift and put her handbag in the back of the car," he said.

"The defendant's sister took the credit card from the bag, then it was used in various places."

Jason Patel, defending, said his client had co-operated fully with the police when she had been arrested.

She was given a 12-month supervision order and was ordered to pay £137.20 compensation plus £60 costs.
