WORCESTER'S photographers developed their winning streak by once again winning the Three Counties' Annual Photographic Competition.

Worcester had won four out of the past five competitions against camera clubs from Hereford and Gloucester and confidence was high when Gloucester hosted this year's competition on Tuesday, October 22.

The competition consisted of three sections covering mono and colour prints and colour slides.

Each club entered pieces into all three sections, which were judged by independent adjudicator David Burnett, well known in the photographic world as a judge of this type of competition.

In the mono prints section, Worcester lost to Gloucester by 10 points with Hereford bringing up the rear.

But in the colour print section, Worcester clawed its way back, beating Gloucester and Hereford.

The third round went to Worcester, and when the final points were added together Worcester came first with 437 points, Gloucester second with 425 points and Hereford last with 383 points.

"The evening was enjoyed by everyone present and Worcester was warned that it will have a hard battle next year when all three clubs travel to Worcester for the competition," said Roy Reeves, Worcester Camera Club public relations officer.
