AS THE end of the racing season appro-aches, Arja Scarsbrook and Brian Newton rode the New Forest CC ten-mile Time Trial.
The event was staged on a circuit on minor roads within the forest in calm but frosty conditions. Both were prize winners - Scarsbrook was fastest lady in a time of 26 minutes 57 seconds and her Eve-sham Wheelers' teammate was seventh overall in 24.04.
The event was won by Ray Hughes in an excellent time of 21.43.
Riding on more local roads in the Warwick-shire Road Club Two-up ten-mile Time Trial, Scarsbrook and Newton, riding as a mixed team, continued their late season success by establishing a new club record for seniors and veterans of 23.02. The time clipped two seconds off the existing record.
Roger Iddles and Gavin Pardoe (Stour-bridge) were overall winners in 20.33.
Steve McGrath led ten club members on Sun-day's club run through Fladbury, Cropthorne, Overbury, Alderton and Toddington before reac-hing Hailes Abbey for coffee.
With rain falling the return to Evesham was via Stanway Hill, Snow-shill and Badsey with 51 miles being covered.
This Sunday's run will be led by Rudi Ligthert to Upton, meeting in the High Street at 9am.
