EVESHAM achieved a creditable third position in the first round of the Speedo League held at Worce-ster.

The ten-11 age group saw a third place for Sophie Dagnall, Elizabeth Hinsley, Sofia Mayhew and Justine Bennett in the freestyle relay, while the boys team gained maximum points in both relay swims thanks to Addie Hancock, Ram-say Evans, Matthew Shepherd, Cam-eron Brodie and Alfie Sutton.

Hancock gained two top spots in the boys ten-11-year-old backstroke and freestyle and ten-year-old Brodie swam a personal best time to touch second in the boys' ten-11-year butterfly.

Dagnall achieved a third place finish for her efforts in the ten-11-year-old girls' individual backstroke event.

The 13 and under age group saw Holly Burton, Katie Scott, Amandine Rich , Christie Foxall and Abbi Penrose touch second in both their relay events and Burton went on to achieve top spot in the individual breaststroke and third in the freestyle.

Scott touched second in her backstroke swim for the age group - a feat matched by Rich in the butterfly. She then swam up an age group in the 15 and under butterfly and was placed third.

The boys' team of Andrew Dagnall, Dan Gittins, Patrick Hughes, Michael Petta and Rune Dige claimed third in the medley relay.

Dagnall bettered that with a second place finish in the individual backstroke event and third in the freestyle. Hughes touched second in the butterfly.

The club's Open ladies' team swam well and Masters competitor, Michelle Dige, swam to a brace of second places in the individual medley and butterfly.

Alison Usher touched third in the backstroke and Anna Mayhew swam to top spot in the freestyle.

The ladies were joined by Holly Carter to earn top spot in the medley relay.

Holly Burton and Charlotte Turner were happy to join the ladies for the exciting freestyle canon where they were pipped into second place.

The men's Open medley team of Steve Redgewell, Tom Arrowsmith, Neil Metcalf and Jon Monks were touched second in their medley relay, while Arrowsmith achieved runner-up spot in his individual breaststroke event.
