ANIMAL lovers can bid for Christmas treats and help out furry friends at the same time at a promises auction arranged by the Kidderminster and Stourbridge branches of the RSPCA.

Gifts and services donated by companies and supporters will go under the hammer at The Whittington Inn on the A449 at Stourton, Stourbridge, on November 7 at 7.30pm.

There will be more than 70 lots including Christmas cakes, free meals, theatre tickets, a trolley dash, a clairvoyant reading and tickets for a coach trip to Calais.

The two branches helped more than 375 animals last year but demand has since grown, while the Christmas period of unwanted and abandoned pets is also approaching.
