A MAGNOLIA tree has been planted at Shear House in Broadway with part of the proceeds of villager Barbara Halford's bumper coffee morning last month.
The planting ceremony took place last Wedn-esday in memory of all those who have lost their lives battling against cancer.
Mrs Halford was so grateful for her own treatment at Cheltenham General Hospital that she organised the event which raised £1,235 for equipment for the Lilly Brook Ward. She has also donated a bench for the grounds of Shear House as a 'thank you' to all those, including the residents, who helped her raise the money.
Mrs Halford said at the ceremony: "Death is not the end, but something eternal and flowers grow forever."
