Pershore II 72pts, Redditch II 15

WITH Pershore's first team without a game due to cup commitments the second team took centre stage.

The team is young but on the pitch they play with remarkable maturity mixing ruggedness up front and lots of pace and guile in the backs.

Pershore won this game handsomely scoring tries at regular intervals.

Almost from the start, winger Spragg scored the first of his four tries leaving the defence helpless with his pace and quick change of direction.

Damien Hanson, at full back, was a constant threat and he chipped in with three tries.

Chris Bassett, back from injury, also touched down three times.

Credit to Redditch as their heads never dropped and they competed right to the very end and managed two tries in the last ten minutes.

Pershore's last two tries came from prop Lee Synock and Marcus Whyte.

Fly half James Martin converted six of the tries but the one black spot for Pershore was when James Martin landed awkwardly in a tackle and broke his collar bone.

He has been playing superbly so far this season and he will be missed.

The first team return to league duty on Saturday at Ledbury.
