A CLEANER has waged war on an Evesham school after he claimed its students are responsible for littering a car park with chip papers.

T Norm Mohammed, who cleans the car park of Alldays Convenience Stores in Davies Road, has said pupils from Evesham High School are throwing chip papers on the car park every lunchtime.

Mr Mohammed, a self-employed contractor hired by estate agents Timothy Lea & Griffiths to clean the car park, said: "I have enough to do without picking their chip papers up."

He has now resorted to collecting the chip papers each lunchtime and dumping them on the playground after rats started to appear.

"It has happened every day for two and a half years and this lunchtime there will probably be more papers there and I will do the same thing again. I've seen four rats so far, but there's probably more than that.

"I am going to keep taking them round every day and I won't stop. If I go to prison, I go to prison."

Evesham High School headteacher David Kelly said that Mr Mohammed had turned up at the school and emptied some litter on the playground and the school had contacted police.

He said: "If any one of my students is identified as a litter bug I will deal with that individual.

"What I object to is Mr Mohammed saying that it's just Evesham High School students that are doing this. If they are, they are in a minority, as a majority of our students are law-abiding citizens.

"I find Mr Mohammed's attitude towards the school extremely hostile and he is making these allegations without any evidence or proof."

West Mercia Constabulary spokesman Kim Stain confirmed that Mr Mohammed had been interviewed but not arrested or charged.

Anthony Rowland, assistant surveyor at Timothy Lea & Griffiths, declined to comment except to say that he hoped people using the car park would have regard for the tidiness of the site and put litter in the correct places.
