REDDITCH MP Jacqui Smith presented an award to Woodfield Middle School at an assembly in recognition of its commitment to promoting literacy and numeracy.
The school won the Basic Skills Award after inspections and the development of programmes to help make the most out of reading, writing and working with numbers.
Woodfield is only the third middle school in the country to win the award.
