TAKE a butcher's at these awards.
The perfect meat product was the verdict of one of the judges when he sampled products from TH Checkett's, in Old Worcester Road, Droitwich Spa.
The wholesale and retail butchers won a total of 12 awards at the Guild of Q Butchers' Smithfield Award, in Milton Keynes, including a perfect gold for its pork kebabs.
Six gold awards and six silver awards were given by the judging panel for products including scotch pie, sausage rolls and chicken burgers.
The company is now preparing to send its pork kebabs and its gold winning home-cured middle bacon for further evaluation at the Good Housekeeping Institute later this month.
A delighted Tony Checkett said: "We pride ourselves in the standards of the meat and meat products we offer our customers and we are absolutely thrilled to receive such an endorsement from the Guild.
"These awards are among the most coveted in the meat trade and a recognition of excellence."
