The unbeaten Division Three run ended with a whimper at the nine match mark in a poor display from Kidderminster Harriers.
They struggled to unlock the Macclesfield defence in a frustrating afternoon which brought about their first home defeat of the season.
Harriers normal passing game was played out at pedestrian pace and they were constantly under threat from the breakaway.
Macclesfield started strongly in a match watched by 2,521 supporters and deservedly took the lead on 31 minutes through Michael Welch's 20-yarder after a quick free kick.
Their second goal arrived through substitute David Eaton's first touch on 71 minutes.
Harriers, whose defender Scott Stamps was by far their best player, had no response and must hope to rediscover the form of old for next Saturday's short trip to Shrewsbury.
