A VILLAGE website has won a prize in a community competition organised by Worcestershire County Council.
The Badsey Website Group, a small band of volunteers, has been operating in Badsey for two years putting together the 500 page www.badsey.net, described in GENUKI Family History News magazine as "the best village website for family history researchers.
Now it has won local recognition by winning the Celebrating Worcestershire Heritage category of the Worcestershire Community Pride competition.
Richard Phillips, who received the certificate and £500 cheque on behalf of the group last Tuesday (October 1) , said: "This is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work put in by the website group.
"This is a team effort that has involved many people within the village and as far away as New Jersey and Zimbabwe. Badsey is a special place."
