I note (Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter, September 13) that Geoffrey Dummer received only an MBE for his outstanding work.
Nowadays it seems that knighthoods are awarded to those who appear not to wash or shave but use 1000 watt integrated circuit amplifiers to propagate the sound of various wild beasts in mortal agony, overlaid with a synthesized beat from darkest Africa. Curious.
