A REDDITCH arts group has been awarded a £225 grant from Worcestershire County Council's First Base scheme.
Redditch Choral Society will use the cash to work with a children's choir and composer Ruth Chan to set poems selected by the children to music, to be performed at a joint concert.
The unique First Base scheme organised by the council's Arts Service offers grants to small groups and organisations that create new opportunities for communities to enjoy creative activities.
First Base was set up in response to the need for initial funding, allowing art groups to develop their ideas and seek further funding from other organisations.
