A FIRM which supplied cheese to the Commonwealth Games in July, is hoping to educate people on the delights of the dairy product.

Niclare Fine Foods Ltd, based on Pershore's Keytec7 Business Park, held a talk and tasting session on cheddar and stilton earlier this month at the Angel Inn, Pershore.

The firm, which has been established in the town for 10 years, supplies speciality food for shops, hotels, restaurants, airlines and catered events.

It imports products from Spain, such as cask-aged sherry vinegar, and also manufactures its own products, including artichoke pesto and salsa verde.

Anstey's of Worcester cheeses were featured at the event, which also included an olive oil tasting.

The lunch was also used by the company to launch its festive lines, such as stilton in pots, as well as other new products.

"We like to educate people," said Paul Brotherton.

"Last year we held our first tasting session and we had a very good response. We decided to hold it earlier this year at the request of retailers who want to get organised for Christmas now."
