FIVE local youngsters produced some superb results in Holland last weekend at the third round of the Biathle World Tour.

The Great Britain squad members found the day cool and windy and the lake where the swim took place was very cold which made conditions difficult as it took the competitors breath away.

Charlotte Turner in the 13-14-year-old girls finished a brilliant second in a time of five minutes 40.15 seconds for the 500m run,100m swim and another 500m run, only missing out on gold by four seconds.

In the 11-12-year-olds girls event staged over the shorter distance of 500m run, 50m swim and 500m run, Emma White came in a fantastic fourth in a time of 5.26.2. Jessica Wheatley (5.27.0) was fifth and Harriet Turner (5.43.6) ninth.

In the boys 11-12 year-old category, Jonathon Weedon crossed the line a superb fourth in 5.29.85.

After the main event the Dutch held a triathlon fun event when teams of three, varying in age, each shot five rounds, ran 500m and swam 50m.

If competitors failed to shoot five individual targets they added on an extra 50m run for each shot.

Against adults, Charlotte, Emma and Jessica made up a team and finished ninth, another fantastic result as the girls excelled again.
