REDDITCH CID officers are appealing for information after a 13-year-old girl was indecently assaulted.

The girl, who was with two friends the same age, was approached by a youth who sat on a wall next to them.

He talked to the teenagers for some time before grabbing one of the girls and indecently assaulting her on the footpath leading to B&Q, off Marsden Road, in Smallwood.

The girl's two friends managed to pull her free from the youth, who then drove off in a pale green car.

The incident happened on Tuesday, August 27, at about 8.30pm.

The youth is described as being of Asian appearance, about 5ft 8ins tall, in his late teens and with a skinny build, short black hair with a side parting and a goatee beard.

He was smartly dressed, wearing pale blue jeans which were bleached down the front, a blue checked shirt with a white collar and cuffs, and black boots.

A police spokesman said: "Although the location of the incident is off the main road, it may be that somebody saw the offender drive away in the pale green car."

Anyone with information can call 584888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
