THE first meeting following the summer break took place recently.
The lunch given by Rita and Pete Jordan in July had been a great success. Next year's programme has been finalised.
Members were told the Hospital Fete had made almost £10,000, of which almost half was from the raffle.
Arrangements were discussed for the Autumn Group Meeting, which Kingfisher are hosting.
Speaker Mr Bruno Barton spoke of his working life as an engineer and latterly an entertainer and story writer.
Suggestions for a venue for the Christmas lunch were invited. The competition was won by M Smith and M Lloyd was flower of the month competition winner.
The next meeting takes place on October 14, all members and friends welcome.
