EX-servicemen and civic heads from Wyre Forest honoured "the few" at the annual Battle of Britain parade despite a poor turnout from the public.
Veterans from the RAF, Army and Navy joined the town's Charter Trustees, Air Training Corps and Royal British Legion youth band in a parade through Kidderminster on Sunday.
It was followed by a memorial service at St Mary's Church to remember those who took on the German air force in the epic battle during the Second World War.
RAF Association chaplain Alun Jones took the second service held at the cenotaph outside the church but was disappointed with the lack of support from Wyre Forest folk.
He said: "I saw the day as a few remembering 'the few'. It's quite sad really.
"I know it has been 62 years since the actual battle and as it gets longer and longer people tend to forget, but it is still important to remember those who fought for us."
