WORCESTER Cricket Club entertained Cheltenham Civil Service in a 45 overs game and were defeated by 115 runs.

Cheltenham batted first on a hard pitch and were in trouble at 45-4, however Chris Ford and Alan Smith came together in a partnership that realised 98 runs in good time to save their side.

Smith made an aggressive 60 before being run out and Ford a very sound 64, to see their side to 193 all out.

Best bowler for Worcester was Luke Smith with 3-16.

Worcester found batting very hard in reply with only skipper Rob Dovaston (21) and Dorm Cook (28) making double figures as they were bundled out for only 78.
