DANIEL Bentley's left-foot strike in the dying seconds put Wyre Forest Brintons level on points with the leaders in West Midlands League Division One South.

Forest Brintons won 1-0 at bottom-of-the-table Malvern Rangers to claim their third win of the season, but left it late.

They came close to scoring twice in the first half but their final finish let them down.

At the other end, the manager's son 16-year-old Chris Wassell dealt competently with everything thrown at him.

Wassell was ably assisted by defenders Shaun Perry and Matthew Carter who were always on hand to clear off the line if he was beaten.

A penalty appeal was turned down for the visitors after former Stourport Swifts striker Jamie Hart was brought down by Malvern's Mark Owen.

And Andy Oakes nearly put Forest Brintons ahead when his 25-yard short was brilliantly turned away by keeper Ross Sanders.

But they eventually took all the points when Sanders was finally beaten by Bentley's last-gasp strike.

Forest's players are asked to report to the ground at 1.30pm for Saturday's game with Blackheath and are reminded club subscriptions are due.
