Tewkesbury Ladies 22pts, Greyhounds (Hereford 15)
TEWKESBURY made a cracking start to the new Midlands Division Two campaign with a victory over a fellow promoted side.
The Hereford visitors won and drew in meetings with Tewkesbury last term but they were on the back foot from the opening whistle and trailed when the hosts crossed for an early score by Gill Kershaw.
A fantastic stolen ball led to a second try when the pack drove five metres before Bev Booth touched down.
Ten point up at the break, the game certainly wasn't won and two tries and a conversion gave Greyhounds the lead after the interval.
However, Laura Joslin broke through for the home side's third try but a penalty at the other end levelled matters.
Tensions were high but Tewkesbury's commitment paid off when Joslin crashed through and Terri Watkins added the extra points to seal a fine win.
