I HAVE been staying in Kidderminster for three weeks but I am afraid I shall be glad to return to my native Cornwall.
Surely Kidderminster must be the most depressing small town in the UK, with its dirty and unkempt town centre, litter-strewn streets, and the building which houses your main post office is an eyesore, among many others around the town.
There is anarchistic parking on yellow lines, bus stops and pedestrian crossings - you name it, I've seen it - with no sign of a traffic warden to enforce traffic regulations, thus creating appalling congestion caused by obstructing parked vehicles.
Then there are the boarded-up shops everywhere while the Horsefair and Foley Park are best forgotten.
Sorry Kidderminster, I shall not be returning. I can understand why the locals look miserable and surly. I was affected after only three weeks' residence.
