ROWING: Lewis Beech powered to singles and doubles wins as Bewdley Rowing Club recorded victories at Worcester Veteran and Junior Regatta and at the Swindon sprint.

Beech comfortably won the J15 single sculls at Worcester before teaming up with Stratford's Vicky Davies to take the mixed J16 doubles.

Dave and Jenny Marchant's first competitive outing together ended in a J18 mixed doubles win, while the final victory of the day fell to the men's veteran D coxed four.

Liz Norman coxed John Fazacerly, Paul Warnett, Jonathan Price and Colin Loveday to the success.

The Swindon sprint marked the end of Bewdley's regatta season with crews storming to 10 triumphs.

Beech won the J15 single sculls then raced above his age to win the J18 competition with a superb display.

He also teamed up with Richard Jackson to take home the J18 doubles trophy.

D and J Merchant won the J17 double sculls by just one foot and the Hinton family of John, Chris, Emma and Mel, coxed by J Merchant, won the mixed veteran A Fours.

J and C Hinton showed their superior fitness to win a re-run convincingly after a dead heat in the veteran B double sculls final.

The four of Fazacerly, Warnett, Loveday and Price, coxed by Miles Banks, recorded another good win in the men's veteran D fours.

D Merchant and C Hinton romped to victory in the family double sculls and were joined by J and M Hinton and J Merchant to clinch another good win in the family quad sculls.

The final race of the day saw Beech, Richard Jackson and Banks, with Hannah White of Stratford and Jo Wright of Maidenhead, take the junior scratch quads.
