A MAN from Kidderminster was attacked by two "carjackers" who drove away in his £65,000 Aston Martin convertible.

The 52-year-old, who has not been named, suffered bruising and reddening to his left eye and cheekbone and a suspected broken nose following the incident in Wombourne in Staffordshire at about 8.40pm last Thursday.

His damson-coloured Aston Martin DB7 Vantage, registered W834 YHP, was found abandoned on the car park of the Asda store in Great Bridge Street, West Bromwich, just under five hours later.

It had been crashed into bollards and was found by patrolling police officers who were responding to a report the car had been speeding around the car park.

Two young men were spotted running away from the scene.

The victim, who refused hospital treatment and asked not to be identified, was driving in Wombourne when he noticed headlights flashing behind him.

He was then overtaken by a Porsche Boxster, thought to be silver, which stopped a short way ahead.

The passenger, a white man of medium build who spoke with a Wolverhampton accent, about 6ft and in his early 20s, then flagged the Kidderminster man down before reaching into the car and grabbing the keys from the ignition.

The two fought before the victim was wrestled to the floor by the driver of the Porsche, who looked similar to his accomplice but had light coloured hair.

The pair then drove off in both cars with no headlights.
