AN Australian man is appealing for help in tracing members of his family still living in the Malvern area.
Rob Davies is looking for information on the Davies, Bannister, Elston, Betteridge and Fereday families, particularly through birth, marriage or death certificates.
Samuel Bannister (born 1817) and his wife Mary Hadley (born 1824) had 11 children, the first being Eliza (born 1844).
She married William Davies in 1868 and they had two children.
One of the children, William Alfred (born 1874) emigrated to Canada with his wife Eliza Elston in 1912.
There they had five more children, one of whom was Frank, the father of Robb Davies.The second child of Eliza Bannister and William Davies was Alice (born 1882).
She married Reg Betteridge and became well known as the last of Malvern's "Donkey Ladies".
