A WORCESTER artist's work is set to inspire people who have a love of the countryside.
Patricia Marshall is exhibiting new works of the Malvern Hills and surrounding landscape at the Foal Yard Gallery, Bransford, near Worcester.
Using acrylics and pastels, Ms Marshall offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional landscape painting and captures a sense of scale and space.
"Pat's impressionistic style derives from the emotional connection that she feels with her surroundings," said gallery owner Jeremy Cornwell.
"A literal reproduction of the physical landscape is just a starting point.
"The objective is to draw the viewer in, to involve them.
"I think Pat's work inspires people with some sense of the spiritual essence of the place, and evokes in them an emotional response to it."
Ms Marshall has just completed a successful exhibition at the Royal Botanical Gardens, in Birmingham.
She studied at Stourbridge College of Design and the City of Leicester University, where she achieved a BA Hons Degree before going on to gain an MA in interior design.
Having pursued a successful career as an interior designer, Ms Marshall returned to her original love of the visual arts and now teaches Art Therapy and Feng Shui, as well as regularly exhibiting her work.
The exhibition is due to start this Saturday, September 21, and continue until Saturday, October 19. The Gallery is open from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
