Newent 4, Pershore II 3
NEWENT strung together a series of penetrating attacks that gave them an early lead.
A second followed rapidly when Pershore failed to clear their goal line but it remained just 2-0 at the break.
The second half started well for the visitors as Hughes slotted the ball away from an acute angle.
Newent responded quickly and produced a superb counter attack to score but Pershore's second was well taken by Ridsdale.
Newent's fourth came from a well-practised short corner routine before the final goal was possibly the best of the lot which saw Steve Emsley beginning and ending the move in emphatic style.
