DROITWICH Spa Cricket Club's second and third teams have taken the plaudits as another season closes at St Peter's Field.
While the Firsts had to settle for mid-table in Worcestershire County League division one, the Seconds claimed the runners-up spot in the Second XI league thanks to the batting of experienced campaigners Brian Gunston and Phil Barrett.
Meanwhile, skipper Phil Darlison led the Thirds back into the premier division of the West Midlands League at the first attempt, finishing runners-up behind Barnt Green.
Alan Breakwell's wicket-taking ability was a key factor in their success.
But Steve Walsh and Paul Rowley's Sunday side was relegated from the V-Sports League premier division.
Under Simon Holliday's 15th year of captaincy, the Thirds claimed a mid-table place.
Droitwich's youth section continued to flourish under Karl Goddard, Kevin and Stuart Bryan with many starting senior cricket.
The club's social calendar will be completed with the annual dinner at the Copcut Elm, in Worcester Road, on Friday, September 27.
