BROMSGROVE Hockey Club Men's First XI sent out a warning ahead of their DTZ West Midlands division one campaign with a 6-1 drubbing of Redditch.
In a warm-up friendly encounter at Great Park, Rubery, Mark Robinson scored five times, giving Bromsgrove the lead midway through the first half.
Robinson scored his second soon afterwards from a Bevan Edwards set up but Redditch hit back as the hosts started to relax.
Robinson completed his hat-trick minutes after the break and he put a penalty flick past the goalkeeper or 4-1.
The Redditch goalkeeper was sent off for a two footed lunge on Robinson, who got his fifth of the game with the resulting penalty flick.
Bromsgrove again relaxed for the last quarter of the game before Matt Russell hit the sixth with the last touch of the match.
Bromsgrove continue their pre-season programme with a trip to Cannock this Saturday.
