A SCHIZOPHRENIC man lost his temper after he was told he was not suitable for a specialist psychiatric unit.

Victor Davis breached his anti-social behaviour order after hearing he would not receive specialist care.

Worcester magistrates heard the 39-year-old was "ranting and raving" after being told the news on Friday, September 13.

He was made the subject of an Anti-Social Behaviour Order by Worcester police on Friday, June 7 for two years.

"Initially it seems he lost his temper and shouted and swore at the people named in the order," said Julie Rosamund, prosecuting.

"He continued to be abusive to neighbour Robert Day. It seems he demanded they contact his social worker. He was ranting and raving and being abusive."

Davis, of Orchard Grove, Littleworth, near Worcester, admitted the breach yesterday.

"It's rather a sad tale with regards to Mr Davis," said Mark Sheward, defending.

"He suffers from a psychiatric problem and has been diagnosed as schizophrenic.

"He's spent a number of years in the care of the local authority. As a result of the changes in care he was released into the community. He's had problems coping with life in the community. So much so that an ASBO was issued preventing him from acting in various ways."

Mr Sheward said that the social worker had been looking into treatment at a specialist unit in Wales.

Davis had undergone assessment for admission into the unit but on the morning of Friday, September 13 he heard he had not been awarded a place.

"He wasn't able to cope with this rejection. He was swearing and shouting."

Davis was fined £75.
