PLANS to spend £135,000 on a car park for the controversial Waitrose supermarket in Droitwich will be tabled tonight.
The decision on whether to buy the land on Ricketts Lane, which is owned by the Spa Housing Association, will be made by Wychavon District Council's executive board.
If members approve the purchase, it will be the next step towards a new store in the Saltway.
Earlier this month, the development control committee voted to support the proposals, despite opposition from residents who insisted the town could not support another supermarket.
Tonight's meeting is now due to be held at The Raven Hotel, Victoria Square, at 6.15pm.
Executive board members will also be asked to approve the council's preferred bid for the Lido redevelopment.
International Property Projects Ltd, which bid on behalf of Thermae Ltd, looks set to be the chosen firm to build indoor and outdoor brine pools, changing facilities, health and well-being centre, sauna, steam and treatment rooms, gym and shops and restaurant.
Councillors will also be given a progress report on proposals for the Worcestershire Hotel redevelopment.
