BUILDERS have gone back to school to create a new block for Worcester pupils.
The contractors working on Elgar Technology College's new 16-classroom block met staff to show them the plans yesterday.
The block, which is expected to be ready for the start of the 2003/04 academic year, will house the maths and foreign languages departments, with other subjects moving into the vacated space.
It is part of a number of developments being funded from a £2m Government grant to help with expansion of the Bilford Road school.
There are around 950 students at the school this near, 100 more than last year, and numbers are expected to swell to 1,050.
"At the moment we're rather cramped," said Dr Graham Watts, headteacher.
