COUNTY riders are anxiously waiting to hear if they have been selected for the UK Polo-crosse squads following last weekend's trials.
The trials took place at the President's tournament which was held at the training ground of Pegasus Croome Polocrosse Club at Stonehall Farm, Drak-es Broughton, near Pershore.
Pegasus Croome members Chris James, Alex Bull, Rosie Palmer, Tom Yates, Charlotte Pykett, Jenny Palmer and Amy Procter Nicholls competed with riders from all over the UK, including a guest team from Ireland, in a bid to gain places in the squads.
At the tournament teams were made up from players representing clubs from England, Scotland and Wales but local players did particularly well with Tom Yates and Jenny Palmer's team coming first in the Junior Section while Chris James, Alex Bull and Rosie Palmer's team gained a second place in the Intermediates. However, selections for the squads will not be announced officially until October.
