BUDDING conservationists keen on keeping Worcester and its surroundings tidy are being invited to a special meeting tomorrow night.
The Duckworth Worcestershire Trust, which is backing Worcester's bid to become Britain's Cleanest City 2003, is encouraging would-be environmentalists to meet its wardens and find out more about the work it does.
Experts will be on hand at the Civil Servants Sports and Social Club in Spring Lane, Malvern.
"There are many residents who do their bit, but aren't aware that there's a support group around," said Ann Silk, of Mason Close, Malvern, a volunteer litter warden for the trust.
"We want to encourage more people to take part and meet the wardens involved."
Since the launch of the city's volunteer warden scheme last year, 30 people have signed up.
In the past 12 months, six tons of litter have been swept from Worcester's streets.
Tomorrow's meeting is due to start at 7.30pm. More information on the scheme is available on 01905 459343.
