BUSINESSES and individuals throughout Worcestershire are being warned against illegal tipping by a county councillor.
Former Worcester mayor Derek Prodger is reminding people who repeat the offence of the council's enforcement powers.
Coun Prodger, who is chairman of the planning committee, said although some people were not aware tipping required planning permission, others were deliberately breaking the rules.
He said the county council was become increasingly aware of breaches of planning control in respect of the tipping of waste.
"The council is concerned that people may be undertaking works as a way of pressurising the council to grant retrospective planning permission for these unauthorised activities when an application is submitted," he said.
"We take breaches of planning control very seriously."
