A MAN who suffered at the hands of thieves three weeks ago has had his property attacked again.

Two large concrete balls from the tops of pillars were stolen sometime on Sunday night from David Ranford's garden in Hillery Road, Red Hill, Worcester.

Three weeks ago an identical ball was stolen and Mr Ranford believes the second theft was a planned attack.

He said the balls were so heavy, they would need at least two men to carry them and remove them from the metal bar that goes through them and into the pillar.

"At first I thought it was vandals but when I searched for it in the hedges I couldn't find it," said Mr Ranford, who is married with a son.

"Somebody had to have gone to a lot of trouble. They would have had to use some form of transport - a trailer or something.

"At least two people would have had to carry the ball and pillar. Actually I can't imagine two people even carrying it to be honest, it's so heavy.

"They've obviously waited three weeks to come back and steal the other two.

"Now they have all three."

Mr Ranford said the second attack happened despite the police driving past regularly to check on the houses in the street.

A spokeswoman for Worcester Police confirmed they had dealt with two reported attacks on Mr Ranford's property, on August 25 and September 16.

"The neighbours have been looking out for vandals and I've been ready with my camera but it's difficult to prove," added Mr Ranford.

"It's worrying that this has been so well organised and planned."
