Scunthorpe were now chasing the game but responded by taking off experienced winger Beagrie for youngster Parton on 50 minutes.
It took a great save from Evans on 58 minutes to keep Scunthorpe in the game.
Shilton's deflected cross fell perfectly for Clyde who hammered the ball towards the top corner only for the home keeper to pull off a spectacular flying save, tipping the ball around the post.
A minute later the home side had a good opportunity when the ball fell nicely for Carruthers in the box but his half-volley under pressure went wide.
The same player again fired over inside the box before a Graves header was rather fortuitously held between his legs by the unsighted Brock on 65 minutes.
