ON Bank Holiday Sunday West Malvern welcomed Fladbury to Mathon Court.
WEST MALVERN v FLADBURY
Having won the toss West Malvern put Fladbury into bat and after a slow methodical start their opening batsmen gained confidence.
P Mann went on to score an impressive 108 until a superb run out from A Hall started the collapse of wickets including ex-Worcestershire county player Neil Radford being bowled first ball by 15-year-old Joe Hemming. A moment for him to treasure.
Hemming (3-21) and A Hall (3-36) were the best of West Malvern bowlers. Fladbury declared at tea on 193-9.
West Malvern were faced with a formidable total which they found difficult to obtain following a slow scoring rate and wickets falling, Luke Radford and father Neil taking five wickets between them.
West Malvern realised their only option was to hold out for a draw and proceeded to do so, with the dogged determination and last wicket partnership of eight overs from James Blackshaw (10no) and Geoff Hall (2no).
