EVESHAM United will need a strong performance to progress at Brislington in the FA Cup preliminary round tomorrow (3pm) and get their hands on the £1,000 up for grabs.

The Bristol side are unbeaten and lie second in the Western League Premier Division.

But Robins boss Phil Mullen has been pleased with the way his new-look side have started the season and they go into the match on the back of an excellent win over Cinderford Town.

New signing Leroy May bagged a brace against the Gloucestershire side and nearly won the game for United at Taunton.

"He's not had a pre-season but he's a good player and will get sharper," said Mullen.

"I was disappointed with the display at Taunton but as bad as we were against them we were good against Cinderford."

Mullen has been pleased with the form of the former Worcester City midfield trio of Steve Lutz, Nathan Jukes and Darren Bullock.

He said: "I'm not getting carried away but looking at the quality we have got on board I'm optimistic we can have a good season and that includes the FA Cup which is important because of the prize money available," he added.

Redditch United begin their FA Cup campaign at home to Midland Alliance new boys Grosvenor Park (3pm) who are unbeaten after five league matches.
