AN attempted burglary has damaged an old-style red telephone kiosk in Upton so badly that BT wants to replace it with a newer design.
The kiosk in Ryall Road has been out of service since the attack in April.
BT has now applied to Malvern Hills District Council for permission to replace the box, which is a red "Jubilee" model, with a newer, transparent, four-sided design. Spokesman Les King said that although the old design looked nice, the newer version was easier to use by children, elderly and disabled people.
