LISTENERS to BBC Hereford & Worcester are being invited to saddle up and raise money for charity.

Presenter Ellie Targett and radio car reporter Lizzie Lane are to lead an eight-mile trek in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice.

Ellie will be riding chestnut mare Folly, while Lizzie will be on Westphalian gelding Gabor during the event at Holme Lacey College, in Herefordshire.

"If it wasn't for the help of the college, the charity ride probably wouldn't be happening," said Lizzie.

"The ride crosses eight miles of the college's farm and park land, with only a very small amount of road work.

"There'll also be jumps of varying heights but these are all optional."

Ellie is keen for as many people as possible to take part.

"It's going to be a great chance for riders to get together, have a ride in wonderful countryside and raise money for Acorns," she said.

"We'd like everyone to have an uncrowded ride, so if you want to take part please book a place in advance if possible."

To book a place ring the BBC Hereford & Worcester action desk on 01905 856000.
