BROMSGROVE rally driver Iain Henderson leads the British Tarmac Championship going into the final rounds after victory at last Sunday's latest stage in Builth Wells.

Henderson, who has also recorded victory in the championship at the Millbrook stages, overcame tyre failure in the first leg of the event en route to success with this Subaru Impreza at the Mewla National Rally.

Together with co-driver Paul Farley, the duo now sit top of the championship standings.

Henderson said: "We had a scare in the early part of the event when the pressure went down in one of the back tyres which really affected the handling of the car.

"But the service crew soon fixed the problem and we went on to have a faultless run for the rest of the day."

The Tracker-sponsored car now heads north to the Otterburn Military ranges in Northumberland.
