ANOTHER appeal has gone out to kind-hearted townsfolk to grab their walking boots and take part in an event to raise money for charity.

The Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa is organising a Jubilee Walkathon which will be held on Sunday, September 15.

People have already come forward to take part in the event, featured in the Droitwich Spa Advertiser earlier this month, which will raise money for Polio Plus.

However, more people are needed to make the day a real success.

Money will be raised from 'Walk Cards' which will be bought by walkers and cost between £1 and £4.

There are four different walks people can choose from. All begin at Vines Park and end in the Lido Park, where there will be entertainment and music once the walk is completed.

The shortest walk is two miles and there is also a five mile trek, a ten mile walk and then finally a hike of 22 miles for the more adventurous.

The Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa - Saltway's press officer, Stuart Beardsall, said: "The appeal in the Advertiser a while ago has been very effective and we have had quite a few people come forward to take part in the walkathon.

"However I would still urge people to come and take part. It will be a fun day and money raised will be going to such a worthwhile cause."

If you would like to take part an application form can be picked up from the Droitwich Spa Advertiser's offices, in High Street, or call Edgar Harwood on 01905 797251.
