BARNT Green Spartak have certainly provided value for money in their last three games after scoring 15 goals and finishing one with only eight men.

The Midland Combination division two side beat West Hagley 6-2 last Saturday, helped largely by a Mark Christie hat-trick. They also won 2-0 at Central Ajax on Bank Holiday Monday.

But the real drama came during their 7-2 trouncing of West Midlands Police Reserves on Tuesday, August 20.

Leading 7-1 and with all three substitutes used, Adrian Knox was carried off with an injury before Christie and Mohammed Miller were sent off for foul language after fighting with each other.

And, discipline aside, the manager believes there is more of the same to come from his side although he has doubts about the defence.

GJ Singh said: "I think we will get a few more of those games without being big headed. We have a lot of goal power.

"We will score goals but we will concede about ten or 15 more than what I think we should."

On Bank Holiday Monday, Christie saw red again after kicking out at Mark Cheung six minutes before half time.

Brown gave Spartak the lead on 65 minutes against the run of play and Carter made it two four minutes from time while nine minutes of added time were played.

Spartak got off to the perfect start last Saturday when Christie hammered home the first of his hat-trick from a Mark Uddin cross after just 40 seconds.

Nick Giles levelled the scores on ten minutes but Knox restored Spartak's lead eight minutes later.

Christie made it 3-1 two minutes after that and Recky Carter stretched the lead to 4-1 on 32 minutes.

Andy Mitchell pulled one back for the visitors five minutes from the break when he headed an Aaron White cross past Mark Kelly.

West Hagley tried to put pressure on Spartak from the start of the second half but GJ Singh's side never looked like letting their advantage slip.

They made sure of the points when Christie completed his hat-trick on 58 minutes, heading home a super cross from Knox.

Simon Brown also got his name on the score sheet when he sent a bullet diving header past Matt Hubble in the Hagley goal after 65 minutes.

Against West Midlands Police Reserves, Spartak took a 3-0 half time lead thanks to two super strikes from left back Uddin on ten and 17 minutes and Carter's goal on 39 minutes.

The second half was only 90 seconds old when Carter got his second before the Police pulled one back after 55 minutes.

But Spartak soon extended their lead when Nigel Patterson made it 5-1 six minutes later and substitute Christie got the sixth on 68 minutes.

Four minutes later Carter completed his hat-trick and the visitors got their second against the eight men.
