TREKKERS across the Malvern Hills have raised money for Acorns Children's Hospice.

Reporters from the Evening News, recruiters from the Army Careers Office and other walkers set about the sponsored walk.

The group raised £162.50 for Acorns, as well as a further £162.50 for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).

"It was a great way of getting into training for my Acorns trek in Peru as well as raise money," said reporter Alison Fraser, who co-organised the walk with Colour Sgt Pete Elcock, of the Army Careers Office, in Worcester's Foregate Street.

"Everyone managed the walk, despite the heat and steep climbs."
