FOUR birdies in five holes left Jeremy Robinson just one shot adrift of the early leaders in the Diageo Scottish PGA Championship at Gleneagles yesterday.
The 36-year-old Evesham golfer continued the form that brought him a top 20 finish at the Wales Open earlier this month on the PGA Centenary Course.
A birdie at the second hole was just the start Robinson needed but a bogey at four was an unwelcome intrusion into the European Tour player's round.
However, his birdie barrage started at the eighth and another at the next left him two-under at the turn.
Robinson then picked up two more shots at the 11th and 12th to move four-under just one behind clubhouse leaders Andrew Oldcorn, Ian Garbutt, Raymond Russell and Scott Gardiner.
Robinson, who is one of the last out later today (Friday), parred the final six holes to card a superb round of 68.
Former Open champion Sandy Lyle, playing in his home country, also stood at four-under playing alongside defending champion Paul Casey, who was four shots off the lead.
