Vale Golf and Country Club

MEMBERS of the junior section were the leaders in all three divisions of the monthly medal.

In Division One, Sam Watts (17) shot a gross 74 - the lowest of the day to record a net 68. His new playing handicap of five is now the same as his father's!

Playing in Division Two, 15-year-old Adam Bennett shot a gross 89 playing off 17 and it proved to be the lowest gross score in the Division.

This was a particularly good effort as he has only recently returned to playing golf after suffering a compound fracture to an arm.

Henry Burling (12), playing in Division Three, recorded a gross score of 90, net 70 which proved the lowest gross round in the section by five shots.

It's been a good year for the junior section and former members.

Simon Green, a past junior captain, won the Club Championship in June with a new course record, while Robert Keeping (17), a new member this year, won the Men's Vale Open last month.
