AFTER a poor display on Saturday Evesham's lead in Division Two of the Worc-estershire League has been cut to just 15 points with four games remaining despite a fine individual performance from Ian Prince.

Nomads showed positive cricket from the start by winning the toss and batting and at one point looked like posting a total of around 280.

This was soon reduced when Prince came back into the attack for a second six-over spell that brought six wickets for 19 runs and final figures of 7-40.

So it was 229 to win which seemed well within the leaders' sights but a selection of poor shots when batsmen looked set proved their downfall.

Only Nick Collins and Neal Radford can feel unlucky as they were dismissed from uneven deliveries both caught behind - the latter scoring 36 on his batting debut.

When skipper Jon Gregory joined Prince it looked a tough task with 100 still needed from 18 overs, but one monster over from Pri-nce, however, saw him hit 27 and it was game on again.

However, he held out to a simple catch an over later and, when Simon Cadwalla-der was caught the visitors were all out for 203.

Sunday saw an easy win over Barnt Green when Quinn Jones was unlucky not to make his first century, falling four runs short.

Gary Lewis, though, made no mistake making 113 and when Cadwallader took a rare wicket, Evesham had gained an easy victory.
