A PUBLIC payphone is to be removed from Alvechurch because it is under used.
BT has identified seven payphones it wants to remove within the Bromsgrove district as part of an ongoing review of the public payphone network.
The Withybed Lane payphone is one of them and there are three in Bromsgrove and a further three in Rednal also earmarked for removal.
But, according to a Bromsgrove Council report, BT is "not removing service from communities" because there is likely to be another payphone within 400m.
